Telok Blangah is where the HDB blocks of Telok Blangah Heights meet the waterfront condos of Keppel Bay, with Mount Faber and the Southern Ridges in between. It is close to the CBD but not in it, and the hills make it one of the best places in Singapore to train outdoors.

Why train at home when the CBD is one stop away?

Because one stop on the NEL still means walking to HarbourFront, riding to Outram or Chinatown, walking to a studio, and reversing it afterwards. That is an hour on top of the session, and the studios there charge for prime floor space. Most Telok Blangah residents already have a good gym downstairs at Keppel Bay or The Interlace, or a flat in Telok Blangah Crescent with enough floor for a full programme. Home personal training uses what you already have.

Can you train on the Southern Ridges?

Yes, and for conditioning it is hard to beat. Telok Blangah Hill Park is 34 hectares off Henderson Road with a Terrace Garden at the top and an elevated walkway through the canopy; Mount Faber Park is 56 hectares next door with the 700-metre Marang Trail and Faber Point. Henderson Waves joins them. A coach can build a session out of hill repeats, stairs and bodyweight strength on the lawns without any equipment at all. Both parks are open 24 hours; 6.30am and after 7pm are the sensible windows, and the ridge catches a breeze that a flat field does not.

What do Keppel Bay and Telok Blangah condo gyms have?

The Keppel Bay developments and The Interlace have some of the best-equipped condo gyms in the country: racks, cable stations, full dumbbell runs and enough cardio kit that a coach never needs to bring more than a band. Older blocks along Telok Blangah Road are thinner, and the coach plans around it with adjustable dumbbells and a mat. See condo gym personal training for how the programme is built around the room.

Frequently asked

Can I get a 6am session at Keppel Bay?

Yes. Early starts are the most-booked window here because the coach comes to your building and you are at your desk in the CBD with no gym detour. Tell us the development and the earliest time you can start, and we match a coach who works that hour.

Is training on Mount Faber practical?

Yes, at the right hour. Both parks are open 24 hours and the coach chooses shaded stretches and the lawns rather than the exposed lookouts. Sessions move into your gym or flat when it rains, and you are never charged for weather.

Do you cover Sentosa and Labrador?

Labrador and the Pasir Panjang edge, yes. Sentosa depends on which coaches are active that month and on the development's entry arrangements. Give us your address and we will say honestly who can reach you and how often.

Is there an ActiveSG gym in Telok Blangah?

Not inside the estate. The nearest is Queenstown ActiveSG Gym at 473 Stirling Road, open daily 7am to 10pm. Most clients here train in their condo gym or flat instead, which is usually better equipped and involves no travel.
