  • Pass is 51 for NSmen and 61 for NSFs, Regulars and pre-enlistees.
  • Silver is 75 and Gold 85, or 90 for Commando, Guards and Divers, with at least 1 point at every station.

  • Push-ups up to 25 points, sit-ups up to 25 and the 2.4km run up to 50, for 100 in all
  • Pass 51 for NSmen, 61 for NSFs, Regulars and pre-enlistees. Silver 75, Gold 85, or 90 for Commando, Guards and Divers
  • Full marks under 22: 60 push-ups, 60 sit-ups and a 8:30 run
  • A 0 at any station rules out every award, whatever the total

How many IPPT points will you score?

Push-ups and sit-ups are worth up to 25 points each and the 2.4km run up to 50, each scored on your own age group's table, for a total out of 100. Enter your age group, your reps and your run time for the points at each station, the total and the award it earns.

Gold, the top award.

Points from MINDEF's score tables for servicemen, as built into the NS Portal's own calculator, checked 4 November 2026. A run time counts at or under each 10-second row. Confirm your result on the NS Portal before your test.

The points come from the score tables built into the NS Portal's own IPPT calculator, the same tables as MINDEF's three PDFs for servicemen, checked 4 November 2026. A run time counts at or under each 10-second row, so 9:41 scores as 9:50. Confirm your result on the NS Portal before your test window.

How many points do you need for each award?

NSmen pass at 51 points and earn Pass with Incentive at 61. NSFs and Regulars need 61 to pass, per MINDEF's February 2015 release, and 61 is also the pre-enlistee score that removes the 8-week Physical Training Phase (PTP vs BMT). Silver is 75 and Gold 85 for everyone, with Gold at 90 for Commando, Guards and Diver vocations.

What each award pays, and how a better retake in the same window is topped up, is in the IPPT incentive award guide.

How are IPPT points calculated by age?

Each station has one table with a column for each of the 14 age groups, from under 22 to 58 to 60. You read your reps or time in your own column, then add the three scores.

The award totals stay the same at every age, so what changes is the effort behind each point: 40 push-ups score 20 points under 22 and 21 at 40 to 42, and a 12:00 run scores 33 under 22 and 43 at 58 to 60.

The 1-point floor and full marks at each station by age group, from MINDEF's push-up, sit-up and 2.4km score tables (checked 4 November 2026). Reps are the fewest and run times the slowest that earn the points

How many points is each push-up count worth?

Find your age group's column and the row for your reps: that figure is your push-up points. Under 22, 15 push-ups earn the first point and 60 earn the full 25. Fewer reps than the first point in your column score 0. The table is MINDEF's push-up score table for servicemen, with the blank cells above each 25 shown as 25.

How many points is each 2.4km time worth?

Up to 50, half the test. Under 22, a 8:30 run earns the full 50, 12:00 earns 33 and 15:00 earns 12, and slower than 16:00 scores 0. At 40 to 42 the same 15:00 earns 23. Every time in 10-second steps for all 14 age groups is in the IPPT 2.4km points table, from MINDEF's 2.4km score table for servicemen.

Which station should you train first?

The one where a realistic gain in the weeks you have buys the most points, not the one with the lowest number. Change one station at a time in the calculator: add 5 push-ups, then take 30 seconds off the run, and compare the totals.

The worked example is in how to find your weakest station, the run sessions are in the 2.4km run training plan, and the route to 85 is in how to get IPPT Gold.

IPPT calculator questions.

How many points is an IPPT pass?

51 points out of 100 for NSmen and 61 for NSFs and Regulars, with at least 1 point at each of the three stations. Pre-enlistees aim for 61, which removes the 8-week Physical Training Phase before BMT. NSmen earn Pass with Incentive at 61, and Silver is 75 and Gold 85 for everyone.

How are IPPT points calculated by age?

Each station is scored on its own table, with a column for each of the 14 age groups from under 22 to 58 to 60. You read your reps or run time in your column and add the three scores. The award totals are the same at every age, so the effort per point changes: 21 push-up points take 44 reps under 22 and 37 at 40 to 42.

Does a 0 at one IPPT station rule out an award?

Yes. Every award needs at least 1 point at each station, so a total of 51 or more with a 0 anywhere is not a Pass. Under 22, the first push-up or sit-up point takes 15 reps and the first run point a 16:00 or faster.

Does this calculator give the same points as the NS Portal?

It uses the same points tables, read from the NS Portal's calculator and checked against MINDEF's three PDFs on 4 November 2026, so the points per station and the total agree. It does not cover exemptions from a station. For your official result, and for any exemption, use the NS Portal.
